01.
Hong Kong and Macau Residents
-
Hong Kong resident:
Those who qualify for permanent residency in Hong Kong and who do not hold a travel document other than a British (Overseas) passport or a Hong Kong passport. -
Macau residents:
Those who have the right of permanent residency in Macau and hold no travel documents other than the Macau passport; or those who do hold a Portuguese passport but obtained the document in Macau prior to the end of Portuguese rule.
02.
People of the Mainland Area
Includes
-
Those who have household registrations in the Mainland Area, and
-
People of the Mainland Area who reside outside the Mainland Area.
Those who were born in foreign countries and holding passports issued by the Mainland Area, but exclude those who have resided abroad for over four years and who:
-
have obtained citizenship of the country where they reside; or
-
have obtained permanent residency status of the country where they reside and holding valid passports issued by Taiwan (R.O.C.).
03.
Foreign Nationals
Foreign Nationals are those who meet the following criteria:
-
Do not have Taiwan (R.O.C.) Nationality; and
-
Non Hong Kong or Macao residents as defined in the “Laws and Regulations Regarding Hong Kong & Macao Affairs”; and
-
Non People of the Mainland Area as defined in the “Act Governing Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area”.
